Breakfast... Should You Have It?

A lot of you eat first thing in the morning because a) it’s habitual for you or b) you’ve been told it’s the most important meal of the day, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. Is it as essential as it’s made out to be?

By now someone has said that the untold secret for fat loss is intermittent fasting (or maybe you got told it was Keto this week). You’ve probably been told breakfast is the most important meal of the day to kickstart your metabolism and that you need to eat every 2-3 hours to keep it firing.

My thoughts... I intermittent fast but not for any fat loss benefits my logic is routine based, I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a morning person, having one less thing to do in the morning sounds aces to me, so I’ll have a black coffee or 2 in the morning while I work with my clients, then I’ll eat around midday. I would change that routine IF I was to train earlier in the day and that logic would come from a performance based angle, I feel and train a lot harder with food in me so in that instance I would eat breakfast earlier. Another reason if I had a client which due to their schedule or caloric intake we needed then to eat as early as possible maybe their schedule only allows certain eating times... shift workers, teachers, students etc. or the amount of calories needed to be consumed in a whole day was so large we get them eating from wake to sleep.

-If you’re a busy person try a black coffee or 2 wait and have a big lunch.
-If you train in the mornings keep your breakfast early for performance based reasons.
-If your caloric intake is so large that you need to eat all day, eat early.
-If your job only allows certain eating times, plan them based on performing at work and the gym.
-But whether you eat breakfast at breakfast or not it has zero effect on your fat loss.
